Guest Browsing — You can browse the LaceLink marketplace and view public seamstress profiles without creating an account. Registration is only required for account-based features like saving favourites, messaging, booking appointments, and linking to your seamstress. When browsing as a guest, we only collect minimal usage data for app functionality.

1. Personal Information

When you create an account or use LaceLink, we may collect the following personal information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password (encrypted), phone number, and account type (Seamstress or Client)
  • Profile Information: Business name, address, contact preferences, and professional details
  • Client Data: Names, contact information, measurements, appointment details, and notes that you choose to store in the app

2. Financial Information

  • Payment Data: Payment amounts, dates, and methods that you record within the app
  • Invoice Information: Invoice details, pricing, and transaction records you create
  • Note: We do not process credit card payments directly. Any payment processing is handled through third-party payment processors with their own privacy policies.

3. Photos and Media

  • Images: Photos of wedding dresses, alterations, work examples, and other images you upload or capture within the app
  • Digital Signatures: Signatures captured for terms and conditions agreements

4. Location Data

  • Geolocation: When you enable location services, we collect your approximate location to help clients find seamstresses nearby
  • Address Information: Business addresses and service areas you provide
  • You can disable location services at any time through your device settings.

5. Device and Usage Information

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
  • Usage Data: App features used, actions performed, error logs, and crash reports
  • Activity Logs: Records of actions taken within the app for security and troubleshooting purposes
  • Analytics Events: Anonymous usage analytics including screens viewed, features used, and error events. This data is stored securely on our own servers (not shared with third parties) and automatically deleted after 90 days.

6. Communications

  • Notifications: SMS and email content for appointment reminders and communications sent through the app
  • Support Requests: Any correspondence with our support team

7. Calendar and Contacts (Optional)

  • If you grant permission, we may access your calendar to sync appointments and your contacts to facilitate client management
  • These permissions are entirely optional and can be revoked at any time

8. Marketplace and Browsing Data

  • Search History: Search queries and filters you use to find seamstresses (stored locally on your device)
  • Browsing Activity: Public seamstress profiles you view when browsing as a guest
  • Favourites/Bookmarks: Seamstresses you save to your favourites list (requires account)

9. Communications and Messaging

  • In-App Messages: Messages exchanged between seamstresses and clients through the app's messaging feature
  • Connection Codes: QR codes and connection codes used to link clients with their seamstresses
  • In-App Notifications: Notification preferences and notification history for messages and appointment changes

10. Reviews and Ratings

  • Client Reviews: Reviews and ratings you submit for seamstresses, including review text and star ratings
  • Portfolio/Work Examples: Photos and descriptions of work examples that seamstresses upload to showcase their services

11. Booking and Connections

  • Booking Requests: Appointment requests submitted by clients to seamstresses
  • Connection Status: Information about client-seamstress connections, including connection dates and status
  • Appointment Change Requests: Requests to modify or reschedule appointments

Your data is securely stored using Supabase, a leading cloud database platform. All data is:

  • Stored in secure data centres with physical and digital safeguards

Important Security Note: While we implement strong security measures, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continuously work to protect your information using industry best practices.

We DO NOT Sell Your Data — We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Limited Sharing

We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers (like Supabase for data hosting) who help us operate the app. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Communication Services: With SMS and email service providers when you choose to send notifications to clients
  • Business Transfers: If LaceLink is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred (you will be notified)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety
  • With Your Consent: Any other sharing will only occur with your explicit consent

Marketplace and Public Profiles

Public seamstress profiles, including business information, portfolios, work examples, and reviews, are visible to all users (including guest browsers) in the marketplace. This information is shared to facilitate connections between clients and seamstresses. Seamstresses can control their profile visibility through privacy settings.

Your Rights and Choices

Data Access and Control

  • Access: You can view and access all your data within the app at any time
  • Correction: You can edit and update your information directly in the app
  • Deletion: You can delete individual records (clients, appointments, etc.) within the app
  • Account Deletion: You can delete your account directly within the app. Navigate to Profile tab → Account Settings → scroll to "DANGER ZONE" → tap "Delete My Account". You can also contact us at support@lacelink.co.uk for assistance with account deletion.
  • Guest Browsing: You can browse the marketplace without creating an account. No personal data is collected when browsing as a guest beyond basic usage statistics.

Data Portability

Upon request, we can provide you with a copy of your data in a commonly used format. Contact us at support@lacelink.co.uk to request your data export.

Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active
  • Client Records: Retained until you delete them or close your account
  • Messages: Retained until you delete them or close your account
  • Reviews and Ratings: Retained even after account deletion if they are part of a public profile, unless you request removal
  • Activity Logs: Retained for security and troubleshooting purposes, typically for 90 days
  • Backup Data: May remain in backup systems for up to 90 days after deletion

After account deletion, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain information.

Children's Privacy

LaceLink is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@lacelink.co.uk, and we will delete that information.

International Users

LaceLink is operated in the United Kingdom. If you are accessing the app from outside the United Kingdom, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United Kingdom and other countries where our service providers operate.
